MATES Cafe is a global grassroots online and offline community movement helping people of all ages, cultures and ethnicity overcome life challenges such as loneliness, relationship breakdown, anxiety, loss and grief by being there and helping them find new life direction. MATES train people to empower their own lives so they can be there for others in times of need.
World Suicide Statistics from the MATES Perspective
Regardless of the number of people per capita, these are real lives at stake. Worldwide there are 800,000 suicides each year, with approximately 24,000,000 attempted suicides and 455,890 people every day having serious suicidal thoughts and needing a MATE to turn to. Being a Good Mate
Using the term MATES suits in eliminating isolation and bringing us all together. MATES is inclusive of every person on this planet. There is no mention of separation due to different gender or ideologies. The collective term is MATES, yet individually each of us is a MATE. As a MATE, when you look around and see something that bothers you, you do your best to change it and know that it is the incremental changes in your life that will add up to reconfiguring the world around you.
